Pierre Arnold are of another time but most definitely of this place, which you're reminded of the moment you discern the chalk scrawled on their barrels: "Nous empruntons à nos ancêtres" (we are borrowing from our ancestors). Pierre's family has been making wine on the eastern slopes of the Vosges mountains since 1711. He took over 274 years later, in 1985.
Mon Tresor is 100% Sylvaner from 35 year old vines. Hand-harvested, and pressed to old Meursault barrels. the juice spontaneously ferments and spends 20 months sur lie all in barrel. It is a rich and vibrant testament to place and time travel.
